Chinese outbound investments: June 2012



  • Chinese power generation group Hanergy has acquired 100% stake in German solar thin-film manufacturer Solibro from German photovoltaic solution provider Q-Cells, for an undisclosed amount -the seller reported.
  • Hong Kong's leading diversified holding Hutchison Whampoa, controlled by the local billionaire Li Ka-shing, said it will acquire a 75% stake in Israeli cell phones importer and marketer Scailex from local peer Suny electronic for USD 125mn.
  • Chinese construction machinery maker Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co has agreed to acquire a controlling stake in German concrete equipments maker Schwing, the buyer reported.
  • Chinese environmental and security analysis instruments maker Focused Photonics Hangzhou said it had acquired a 75% stake in Netherland based holding company Bohnen Beheer for EUR 3.94mn. (USD 4.95mn).
  • Chinese real estate developer Yeland Group Co said it had acquired full control of U.S. butter creek wind power projects for USD 38.4mn.
